The KAPPA are usually the bad character
in traditional Japanese stories. In the comics they tend to fart very strong ,
they steal vegetables in the gardens, abduct children ... However, the kappa
are highly educated beings who follow perfectly the Japanese code of conduct.
Therefore, according to tradition, to escape from a kappa it is only necessary to
curtsey. The kappa will be forced to return it, dropping water from his bald
head and temporarily losing their powers.
The Kappas are quite curious and like
spying on humans. They understand and can speak Japanese, sometimes even they
relate to human if they obtain benefits.
Some Kappas get to become friends with
the man, and even help irrigate orchards or teach medicine tricks.
