Guardian:
According to
Japanese tradition, the Niō guard the entrance to Buddhist temples in Japan and
Korea. As manifestations of the bodhisattva Vajrapani protective deity it is
said that Buddha accompanied on his trip.
When we
speak about "liquid stage" we are referring to the object stage of
"the thing". Liquid Stage represents all the mutable aspects of the
thing, as thinghood same. Liquid in the relationship established with the
Other, being another mutilated head that lies in front of him (NIŌ), we talk
about two stages. In the first one, Liquid figure becomes "liquid
stage", the unstable, the darkness, the antihero; in the second one, Solid
represents a structure or "solid stage", the light, the truth, the
hero.
Our proposal
is to give life to the tension that occurs between opposites. A permanent game
between otherness, between me and my Other. In this case, maximize the negative
response of the meeting.
In this
sense, the spanish writer and philosopher Pedro Lain Entralgo affirm that “…el
otro puede serme todo, desde lo más grato hasta lo más ingrato, desde mi amigo
hasta mi asesino1” (Lain Entralgo, 1968: 100).
Throught
this artwork, we present two opposing realities, we experience with identity
and "apparent". The idea presented in this work is starring by
antihero, the terror of a contained force: the Other is myself, now.
